about the vivaldi team

Vivaldi Racing was launched in 2004 by Naturally Best, a business based in Lincolnshire. The Naturally Best brand is traditionally linked with the Fresh Produce industry and as a grower, packer and importer of potatoes.

Vivaldi, the potato for all seasons, is Naturally Best's most renowned potato, hence the team name. The potatoes, coupled with the team mascots Mr Vivaldi and Family, have become increasingly popular, and always attend the BSB rounds.

Vivaldi’s first season in racing saw local rider Ben Wilson running in the 2004 National
Superstock Championship. Ben finished the season in a brilliant 3rd place, reinforced by an outstanding runners-up spot in the Suzuki GSX-R cup. The latter allowed Ben to compete in the Suzuki GSX-R World Cup in Atlanta where he finished 8th.

Having had such success in the National Superstock Championship with Ben in 2004, Vivaldi Racing again decided to enter this championship with riders Ollie Bridewell and Aaron Zanotti. Ben’s success in Superstock also prompted VR to promote him to the Premier class of British Motorcycle Racing; the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. Ben was joined here by Tristan Palmer, one of his rivals from the previous season.

Vivaldi’s debut season in BSB resulted in a 17th place finish for Ben and 21st for Tristan. These results were accompanied by a fantastic 5th place finish for Ollie and 12th for Aaron in Superstock.

Half-way through the 2005 season Vivaldi also welcomed experienced BSB race-winner Scott Smart to the team. Despite having terrible luck with injuries, Scott still managed to claim 14th place in the BSB Championship.

Looking forward to 2006, Vivaldi has strengthened the team further, both on the track and behind the scenes. Vivaldi is entering 3 riders into the BSB Championship; Ollie, Ben and Scott, using Suzuki GSX-R 1000 K6 machines as opposed to the Kawasaki ZX-10R machines from 2005. The appointment of Norris Farrow as Technical Manager has also aided this strengthening of the team.

Vivaldi Racing has signed Tommy Bridewell to race in the National Supersport
Championship. Tommy, Ollie’s younger brother, comes to Vivaldi after a 3rd place finish in last season’s Virgin Mobile R6 Cup.
